Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro surpass Pittsburgh in 2019

The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro area exported $9.7 billion in 2019, more than exports from Pittsburgh in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro area consists of two counties.

The Pittsburgh metro area comprises seven counties exporting $9.7 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
