Marin County is expanding its oral fluid swab COVID-19 testing capacity, according to a news release by the county.
The county has teamed up with Curative Inc. to add an additional site to the six testing locations that were previously announced.
"Curative is thrilled to partner with Marin County to bring more free, accessible and convenient COVID-19 testing to the North Bay,” Shoshana Gould, Curative’s Partnerships manager for the Bay Area said. “We are looking forward to fully-launching this week and keeping everyone safe and healthy with our mobile van unit and drive through in San Rafael. Marin County is the sixth county in the Bay Area with curative-run testing, following San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Sonoma and Santa Clara."
The new site will offer drive-thru service at the “Armory Parking Lot” along Civic Center Drive in San Rafael. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Curative has also expanded the operating hours of its San Geronimo testing location, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays. The location has been moved to the nearby San Geronimo Golf Course to accommodate the expanded schedule.
Visitors need to schedule an appointment online at Curative's website prior to arriving for testing. Appointments can be made about three to four days in advance of each scheduled testing day.
A full list of testing sites and times can be found on Marin County's website.
