City of Novato issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.
The City of Novato is currently accepting applications for the Downtown Novato Business/Property Improvement Grant Program, an incentive program that offers downtown Novato property and business owners matching grant reimbursements for permanent improvements to commercial buildings in downtown. Funds are limited and the program can end at any time; interested parties should submit their applications as soon as possible. Businesses located within the Downtown Novato Business Improvement District Boundary are eligible to apply (see map below). The first review of applications will begin on January 19, 2021.
This program is designed to support private investment in our downtown properties and to preserve them for commercial uses with the goal of encouraging economic development and enhancing the physical appearance and commercial viability of downtown businesses.
Applications will be reviewed for completeness and eligibility, and all eligible applications submitted will be considered. Grant recipients will be selected based on eligibility, availability of funds, program guidelines, and submission of all required information and supporting documentation.
