City of San Rafael issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.
In response to rapid increases in positive cases, hospitalizations, and reduced ICU bed capacity, California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a new statewide Stay At Home Order. The new restrictions start on Tuesday in Marin and will remain in place until January 4, 2021. Other parts of the Bay Area will implement the order starting on Sunday.
Beginning Tuesday, December 8 at 12 p.m., the following sectors in Marin County must close:
- Hair and nail salons
- Indoor and outdoor playgrounds
- Indoor recreational facilities
- Museums, zoos, and aquariums
- Movie theaters
- Wineries
- Bars, breweries, and distilleries
- Family entertainment centers
- Limited services
- Live audience sports
- Critical Infrastructure
- Retail stores and shopping centers are required to limit capacity to 20%
- Restaurants are required to limit service to takeout only
- Gyms and fitness centers are required to operate outdoors only
- Hotels and lodging are allowed to open for critical infrastructure support only
- Schools (with waivers in place)
- Childcare and Pre-K
- Offices can operate for critical infrastructure sectors where remote working is not possible
- Places of worship and political expression can hold services and events outdoors only.
Please stay home as much as possible. If you must go out: wear your mask, practice good hygiene, and keep your distance from those outside your household.
