On Sunday, Feb. 23, former San Marin High School standout Anthony Scheppler’s current college team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, lost 12-10 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The game took place at 121 Financial Ballpark. This was their first matchup against the Crimson Tide this season.
The Buckeyes’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at Globe Life Field against Auburn Tigers.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former Marin County area high school standouts will be competing during the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
